Hi-Land Art & Frame, now in business for over fifty years.

           Started in 1954 by Aldo Berthold, Hi-Land Art & Frame was originally an old-school paint store. Dutch Boy house paints, wall papers, window shades and blinds, drop clothes, brushes and art supplies. In a back corner of the basement there are still two gallons of Dutch Boy Dirt Fighter Latex which are over 25 years old, still liquid and still look good.

            The years went by and in the 1970’s Aldo, joined in the business by his wife, Jean, decided to specialize in artists’ supplies and custom picture framing, which wew still do today. Al and Jean continued to run the store through the eighties, retiring in 1989.

            Over the years, the artists’ supplies inventory has grown to include acrylic, oil and watercolor paints, canvases, drawing papers, oil and chalk pastels easels, books and brushes.

            Hi-Land Art & Frame also offers numerous craft items such as clays, pipe cleaners, feathers, felt, sequins, wire, wire, goo-goo eyes and origami papers. The store also stocks art-related gifts and projects for children.
